Hi, and welcome to my first blog journal entry. I’ve wanted to write a blog for a while now and finally decided that now is the time. Why wait, right?! My passion for interior design has lead me in so many amazing directions. What I thought would just be a little hobby has turned into a full-on career. Being able to have a job that I am not only passionate about, but allows me to help create such amazing homes for my even more amazing clients, is truly a dream come true.
In this blog, I’d would like to keep you updated on design trends and share my opinions on all things design. My first post is going to be about COLOR. Yes, I said it-color. For the last decade, we’ve been so nervous to throw color into our homes. White is washed up, trust me....I know it may be hard for some of you to hear-my apologies.
If 2026 design is going to say one thing it’s this: DON’T BE AFRAID OF COLOR.
The minimal, safe design is pivoting into a new bold direction (one that I am quite obsessed with). Homes will have a much richer color palette and will be bringing back personality. Some of my current favorite color trends are deep burgundy, all shades of charcoal, and my top choice...drum roll...deep grounded browns. These rich tones will bring instant depth and sophistication to your home.

I know this new design chapter will be hard for some of you, so I suggest starting small. Throw some deep, rich colored throw pillows around and see what can transpire. If you start to love it but don’t know how to keep going, let’s just say I know a pretty good designer (wink, wink). I promise you will not be disappointed. Color drenching is the new “all white”. For those of you who don’t know what I mean, just give it a quick Google. I’m not talking accent walls- I am talking the whole dang room. All walls and yes the ceiling too. Although there was a time I loved a simple colored accent wall, that time has past. Don’t let it look like you got nervous halfway through and decided one wall was enough. I promise you, going full-blown is the only route to go in 2026.
A note I want to make to you before I go is this: let your home feel like yours, not your neighbors. Personality and imperfect characteristics are not only okay, in fact they are perfect. So step away from the all white mindset and lets get moody! Be bold, and let your home tell a story!
Thanks for reading, until next time! -Bri
